Submarine System Architecture

Complex military platforms such as submarines rely upon a ‘single-point-of-truth’ model to capture and maintain a complex system design including hardware, software and firmware. This model will be active through the majority of the lifecycle from concept, through assessment to development and initial deployment.

Sagentia Defence, formerly TP Group, consultants developed such a model for two combat systems on behalf of a UK Major Prime, compliant with their Life Cycle Management approach. This was achieved using a toolset centered around Sparxsystems Enterprise Architect, a commercial design tool using UML/SysML for design capture, and BPMN for process capture.

This ongoing project has assured system integrity through multiple lifecycle transitions through to deployment on a variety of development projects for legacy, current and future combat systems.
