Commercialisation strategy for novel subsea robotics technology

Our client asked:

Sagentia Innovation formulated the commercialisation strategy by challenging the ‘go-to-market’ issues the client would face over the next 3-5 years. This included a detailed roadmap outlining the critical technical and commercial milestones alongside the supplier engagement activities to ensure the system met key asset timelines

The project story:

  • After focusing on the technical robotics development of the technology, our client felt they lacked the experience and capability of the complex commercialisation needs of the system
  • Sagentia Innovation was contracted to review the client’s initial plans and identify critical missing/ lacking elements

  • We worked closely with the client to define their commercialisation goals and map out a route between the current state and future desired commercialisation point (i.e. the “transfer” to a selected supplier)

Client benefit:

The client was able to articulate the commercialisation process with much greater clarity and within a feasible program.

We also highlighted the critical decision points to realise the commercialisation strategy.

We participated in the ‘Go/No-go’ investment decision meeting that was held with the executive decision board.
