Our approach

We partnered with Nu Skin to transform scientific insights into a market-ready smart skincare device. Our multidisciplinary team combined applied science, engineering and design to:

• Develop synthetic skin models to replicate human skin properties, enabling controlled, repeatable testing of prototype designs under realistic conditions
• Engineer precision experiments using high-speed imaging to analyse mechanical interactions between the treatment head and skin, ensuring optimal frequency and motion for dynamic skin renewal
• Design a treatment head with medical-grade silicone for gentle yet effective contact, and integrated silver-based antimicrobial technology to prevent bacterial build-up and maintain hygiene
• Optimise mechanical performance through iterative prototyping and stress analysis, balancing durability with ergonomic design for consumer comfort and ease of use
• Collaborate across engineering and industrial design teams to create an elegant, spa-like device that meets stringent scientific standards while appealing to consumer aesthetics
